Get Involved During Child Abuse Prevention Month

In our society the basic needs and rights of children are entrusted to their families, but when the family – for whatever reason – is unable to meet those obligations, our most vulnerable children are placed in the foster care and child welfare system.

Each April, Child Abuse Prevention Month activities raise awareness about the problem of child abuse – and most importantly, about what each of us can do to help prevent the abuse and neglect. As a community it is our fundamental obligation to help children in foster care through no fault of their own.

Court Appointed Special Advocates ensure that every child has the right to learn and grow and be treated with dignity and respect in the safe embrace of a loving family.

You can help fight child abuse by getting involved today! Your participation in one or all of the following activities will help us reach our goal of providing a highly trained advocate for 100% of children in need:

Create a personal fundraising page and help us raise $11,000for recruitment and training of advocates. We need 40 more volunteers to advocate for the children on our waiting list.  Last year 126 advocates served 355 children. Unfortunately, 84 children did not have an advocate to call their own.
